Repairing A Garden Hose

Let's say you have a situation like this where you have an attachment to your hose and no matter how tight you make this it always is it's still dripping or let's say you have two hoses that are connected and it's doing the same thing the first thing you want to look at is let me shut this water off so we can look at it take this nozzle off and inside you'll see.

We've got your washer and that's what we're gonna look at gonna take this washer out see or kinda we have I think we found our problem as you can see this washer is in really bad shape the it's corroded it's almost broken apart it almost came apart when I took it out that's definitely our problem so what you want to do in that case is definitely replace it and you will replace it with one of these .

They usually come in a kit that has several of a minute and just put a new one on there and you should be good to go got a situation we're somewhere along the length of your hose you've got a tear or a cut and this one's pretty bad I don't think you're gonna be able to tape that so I'll show you what you'll do for that situation so to repair our hose.

We're gonna use a metal hose mender kit which includes two metal clamps and the brass fitting that will connect the two pieces of a hose and of course you need something to cut your hose with so we will go ahead and cut our hose those on so put our piece in turn it down a little bit so it doesn't move and the other side ones they're good and tight .

it's ready to try it out so in this situation we have the end of the hose that we really can't use anymore in this case it got flattened because it was run over all we're gonna do here is just take this piece off and we have a new piece that we can attach to this so we'll just go ahead and cut it off and we're gonna use again a piece that has the brass fitting which matches the side of this and of course it's got the metal clamp to keep it down so we will put our metal clamp in and put that down and again just tighten it up and again if it's good enough go ahead and try it out...
