How to cut an undermount sink on granite.
We are going to show you how I do sink cutout on granite now this would be the same thing with engineer stone or marble it's still gonna be the same idea the same concept I do it all the same for this type of sink this is a kitchen sink it's a double equal sink so I'm going to show you how I do it and the different tools that I use to do a sink cut out for an undermount sink so this is the saw that I'll be using to do the sink cutout .
It's is so that's a tile saw now I use the five inch blade you can put a four inch plate four and a half inch play as a five inch blade so I can get in there deeper as a water attachment of course I only work wets I don't do anything dry so this is a saw that I'll be using to cut out the sink alright so the first thing that I want to do is I want to score my line so right next to that white outline that I draw this sink on the inside I'm gonna score that line now.
The most important thing about a sink cutout is when you're done you want the outline to still be there you don't want to go over with a blade so I score a couple times before I plunge my blade in there I like to take care of my tools so I go easy on them I can get maybe 50 sinks or more with one of these saws so and that's just you know because I take really good care of it .
So you wanna if you can see that the plate of the the sole I keep it on the inside of the sink right under the motor there of the sole you know that could scratch the surface you want to be careful with that if you're using this saw you never want that plate to be on the outside on the good part of the stone you want to keep that on the cut out part.
Now, I'm right here I'm just plunging the blade three or four times on every corner to cut out the corners now there are people that rather use a contour blade for the corners and that's perfectly fine that's you know that's what works for you but this is what works for me so you know I continue to do it this way maybe faster another way I don't need to go any faster I mean.
This cut out didn't take me that long so that's you know with every corner I'm just dropping so again scoring my line first before I plunge the blade in there I want to take it easy on the saw itself and then in every corner as you can see how that dropped I make sure that the pieces fall on their own I don't like tapping on the granite sometimes chunks come out and I don't want that so I cut until the pieces fall on their own...
