How to Make a Snap and Rivet Setter from an Arbor Press and Dies
This is a snap setter that I made from a Ann Arbor press and this is how I do it so I've taken the arbor out and made sure it's it's plumb and in line with the axis at the drill press so I can drill it out and I've just picked a drill size as the same size dyes the dyes have a diameter now the dyes that I have on the top or the part that goes into the artwork of reading and rather than read the artwork .
I felt like just a straight hole that I could make inserts slip in to be a little more versatile for future dies in order to hold the insert into the arbor I'm going to put a set screw so I'm marking here in order to drill and tap for that set screw .
Whenever you tap a hole you have to check your reference and match the tap size to the proper drill size I'm sped this up quite a bit there's a lot of forward and reverse and be careful it's pretty easy to break those tabs testing the screwed to accurately mark the baseplate put the arbor back in except put a set Center punch into the hole that I've drilled and use that to mark the clade
