Blind Rivet Removal & Installation

Pop rivet removal installation stay tuned so what you do is to take a drill  bit that's slightly larger than the  opening in the pop rivet and drill it  out  okay so here you'll see me accidentally  drill all the way through the rivet you  don't want to do this because although  you'll be able to get the head off no  problem you'll have difficulty removing  the body of the rivet put it in there  and just work it around breaks the head  right off like that take the punch back  in amer out it's wedged in and you're  all set to put a new pop rivet in so  here is a rivet standard.

Pop rivet  basically consists of a mandrel which is  the center portion the shank in the  middle and a body with a head on it what  I have here is a hand Riveter and it's  got a couple different dies right here  for different sized rivets this is a inch rivet so we're using the head  for the / now this takes a little bit  of strength especially the but you  pull it.

And basically here's what  happens as oh yes pretty good as you  pull it you're pulling the mandrel  through the body and swedging the end so  that it locks in as you can see the hand  rivet these larger rivets it's a little  bit of a hassle our other option is the  pneumatic Riveter rivet gun basically  put the rivet in like so let the squeeze  of a trigger  pulls the mandrel through and you're all  set all right so I've elected to use the  pneumatic rivet gun place..
